Brief Description (Abstract):

As a part of the High Altitude Cloud Physics Laboratory (HACPL) project, the Laser Ceilometer has deployed at Mahabaleshwar, a remote location in the complex terrain of the Western Ghats (WG) to understand the morphology of the vertical profile of clouds. The ceilometer continuously provides the measurement of cloud base height along with corresponding cloud depth for three layers over the ground up to 15 km.

Purpose: To study the vertical properties of clouds.
