The ECOP Initiative: Connecting, Learning, and Leading in Ocean Science

This workshop will explore the critical role of Early-Career Ocean Professionals (ECOPs) in achieving sustainable ocean development. It will align discussions with the challenges and outcomes of the UN Ocean Decade and introduce key initiatives of ECOP India. The workshop will also highlight the work of two specialized working groups:
Ocean Literacy — Emphasizing the importance of public engagement, education and awareness in ocean science
and Blue Carbon & Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal (mCDR) — Addressing the problems and providing solutions to mitigate climate change through ocean based carbon sequestration.
It will provide networking space for participants to exchange ideas, collaborate on future projects and strengthen their contribution to ocean science and policy.

Financial support:
Travel (3rd A.C. railway fare on reimbursement basis), accommodation, meals, internet connectivity, and office and recreational facilities will be available for participants at no cost, provided by INCOIS.
