This privacy policy governs your use of the mobile applications that are hosted by INCOIS on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The contents published on these applications are for general information only. INCOIS has taken enough care to ensure that information and services provided from this app are error-free. However, the advisories and forecasts are made based on the available scientific data and numerical models which are known to have certain errors and may not capture every possibility. Hence, INCOIS shall not be responsible for any loss or damages caused to any user or organization by the usage of information from these apps.

User Provided Information

You are required to register for using the applications. User data collected includes name, mobile number, email address (for communication), occupation, organization and state/pin code. The information you provided may be used to contact you from time to time to provide you with more important information and required notices. The information you provided may also be used to personalize your application experience. We do not use your personal information for commercial marketing or any such activities.

If we seek any other personal information, you would be informed about its intended use.

Automatically Collected Information

In addition, the applications may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browsers you use, and information about the way you use the Application through analytics for statistical purposes and to design methods to enhance the user experience.

When you visit the mobile application, it may use GPS technology (or other similar technology) to determine your current location to display localized ocean related alerts. If you do not want the app to use your location for the purposes set forth above, you should turn off the location services for the mobile application located in your mobile device settings. However, if a service provided by the application requires the location services using GPS technology for localized customizations, such customizations offered by the application will not be available for you.

Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information

We will retain user provided data for as long as you use the application and for a reasonable time thereafter. We retain automatically collected information also for a reasonable period depending on the nature of application and thereafter may store it in aggregate. Please note that some or all the user provided data may be required in order for the application to function properly.

Misuse by Non-Targeted Users

All mobile apps are meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the mobile.

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. Please be aware that, although we endeavour to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
